The 69,000 square foot PK-8 school in Washington, DC was built in 1945 and was expanded by a three story addition built in 1967. The MEP scope of work included survey and evaluation of existing systems, a concept narrative to describe new MEP system and finally developing a dimensional design document for design-built contractors to bid and build the project. Existing steam boilers were utilized to produce hot water for a new hot water heating system. New HVAC and plumbing system was provided throughout the school. Existing electrical system was upgraded to provide new lighting, power distribution and fire alarm system.
